Paging without EF

Jun 11, 2015 at 5:46 PM
I'm curious how to implement paging without using EF, for example, in my data access library I have a method that will return an array of objects based on a page and page size. I want to tell Grid.MVC how many entities there are, and which page I'm on so it can display the correct paging controls, but I don't want to hit the database for thousands of rows each time and I do not want to use EF. I can see .WithPaging(pagesize) but I cannot see, for example, .WithPaging(currentPage, pageSize, totalItems)

Am I missing something, or do I need to extend something?

You must create a custom Grid that extends the Grid.MVC and use the GridPager object to procede.

What do you mean by EF? I believe EntityFramework is not tied to grid mvc implementation?
